Media and community

Tarnya Davis is the director and principal Clinical and Forensic Psychologist at NewPsych. With over 25 years of clinical experience, she has a special interest in working with people who have experienced trauma, but most of her time is spent supporting organisations through challenging events, as well as helping them to become more psychologically healthy.

Tarnya writes a weekly column for the Newcastle Herald, is a regular on ABC radio and speaks at community events and conferences on mental health and wellbeing. The NewPsych team regularly shares their expertise through media projects for the community.

BEAT

Local film maker, Jye Currie and his team at Green Frog Productions filmed a scene for his film Beat (the largest independent film to be produced in Newcastle) at our lovely NewPsych space.

Beat is a psychological drama/thriller that explores the themes of homelessness, fame and mental health with the story driven by classical music.
