National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The NDIS is a national initiative providing funding for Australians who have a disability to access the support that they need. The NDIS aims to provide support for people with disabilities with activities of daily life, as well as to pursue their goals and participate in employment, social and community opportunities.

The scheme provides each NDIS participant with individual funding that they can use to access services for disability-related supports. Eligible children, adolescents and adults accessing the NDIS may experience a variety of physical, sensory, intellectual, neurodevelopmental or psychosocial disabilities, or have other special needs. The NDIS funding each person receives, and the supports they can access, is decided in negotiation with an NDIS planner.

Contact your NDIS Local Area Coordinator to learn more about accessing the NDIS or requesting psychology funding in your NDIS Plan.
