Dr Yolandie Goodyear

Psychiatrist

| CHILDREN ADOLESCENTS (UP TO 18) |

Yolandie has extensive experience in assessment and management of various mental health conditions. She has worked across inpatient and outpatient, as well as urban and rural communities.  She is able to work with young people and their families until the age of 18.

Over the last 8 years, she has been studying and working in the field of gender diversity and gender dysphoria.  She has assessed many young people and supported them and their families through this journey.  As a full member of AUSPATH, Yolandie has presented at conferences, mental health teams and schools about gender diversity and how to help young people be comfortable in their skin.

Yolandie is also interested in mood and anxiety disorders (particularly the psychotherapeutic management). She is trained in the Conversational Model and usually works in a fairly eclectic psychodynamic model.

She can provide assessment and treatment for anxiety and mood disorders, symptoms related to developmental trauma and mixed medical/mental health conditions.

Yolandie is not trained in the ADOS and does not offer Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnoses per NDIS requirements. She is a stimulant prescriber and has an evolving interest in ADHD and subtypes, as well as management of this condition.

Yolandie is committed to diversity and social inclusion: this includes Indigenous Australians, people who identify as LGBTQIA+, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, as well people with a disability.
