Dr. Richard Westerman
Psychologist
| CHILDREN | ADOLESCENTS | ADULTS
Richard studied and trained in the United Kingdom obtaining degrees in Psychology at Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctorate level. Prior to moving to Australia, Richard developed his skills in educational settings working with children, adolescents, and young adults for several years upon qualification as an Educational and Child Psychologist. This helped foster specialisms in the assessment and treatment of neurodevelopmental conditions like Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC); behavioural disorders including attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiance disorder (ODD) and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD); as well as mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder.
Whilst Richard predominantly worked with children, adolescents, and young adults, he is also keen to share his passion for positive psychology and his skills and knowledge in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution focussed brief therapy (SFBT), and systemic family therapy with adults that seek support in managing anxiety, attachment difficulties, depression, phobias, trauma, self-harm, relationship issues, grief and loss.

During his time off Richard enjoys tending to a BBQ on the beach with the warmth of the sun on his back whilst listening to the soundtrack of the ocean rolling back and forth.
