Dr Ashwinder Anand is a Consultant Psychiatrist based at John Hunter Hospital. He has a particular interest in the Adult ADHD, Autism, Neuropsychiatric consequences of Traumatic Brain Injuries, Cognitive (Memory) Disorders, Functional Neurological Symptoms, Organic Psychiatric conditions and Neuropsychiatric Disorders following various Neurological Illnesses. He has managed complex treatment resistant psychiatric conditions in a multidisciplinary format and has developed strong connections with other care providers.

 

He has gained double certification from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry.  In addition to starting private practice, he has extensive experience working for Hunter Mental Health Services providing tertiary care to the population of Newcastle and Hunter region. 

He is also a part of the Neuropsychiatry Service, which was awarded the Clinical Team of the Year for its commitment to excellence in clinical care, teaching and research. Additionally, he is also the Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist at John Hunter Hospital.
