Sophie Ballinger
Clinical Psychologist Registrar

Sophie completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Newcastle in 2020, and has been working as a psychologist for over 2 years.

Alongside her work with adults at NewPsych, Sophie works for a local NGO supporting adolescents and their families.

Sophie finds helping people manage mental health difficulties such as depression, anxiety, and stress fulfilling. She tailors the intervention to the individual and is flexible in her approach to treatment, which involves the use of evidence-based models such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

In her spare time, Sophie enjoys being outdoors, running, gardening, and spending time with family, friends, and her dogs Koda and Alfie.
