Jonny O'Connor

Provisional Psychologist

Jonny completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) in 2016 and is now undertaking his provisional internship. In March 2020, Jonny began working in the NDIS sector as an outreach psychologist and has spent time working in Correctional Services. He has 8 years of experience as a support worker; helping individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and mental health issues.

  

Jonny uses a combination of evidenced based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). He enjoys teaching mindfulness, relaxation, emotional regulation and defusion strategies. 

Jonny is passionate about connecting with people and helping them gain more insight into themselves and their emotional awareness. He is a strong believer in work/life balance and enjoys spending his free time in nature.
